Coors Field was completed in 1995 as the home for the Colorado Rockies which moved in for their third season following initial campaigns in Mile High Stadium. The Coors Brewing Company from the nearby town of Golden, Colorado purchased the naming rights to ballpark immediately upon its construction. Coors Field is located near the Union Station rail line and Interstate 25 close to downtown Denver. In an interesting twist designed to highlight the unique elevation of Denver, Coors Field has one row of seats near the 20th row of the highest seating area in the ballpark colored purple while the surrounding seats are green.
